Nothing says summer like corn on the cob

It's that time of year again, with fireworks, water skiing, family reunions, hamburgers and corn on the cob. I always wait with great anticipation for July when our local farm picks thier first crop of sweet corn. I probably frequent the farm stand 2-3 times a week for corn, no matter what we are having for dinner corn is always a good side dish.

Wow, that looks yummy! In Australia corn on the cob is $2-3 per cob-- isn't that insane?

YAY for corn. We grew up with lots of kids in the family and guests all the time, so my mother would put out a new stick of butter and we would all roll our hot corn on it, lengthwise. Then we have a funny shaped butter left for the rest of the week but it sure made buttering quick and easy.

Adorable photo!
