A Death in the Family

It was a very sad day today. It finally happened. I knew some day this day would come, but I didn't think it would be so soon. My external hard drive finally died. The worse part about it is, I had all of my pictures and music on it. I was lucky enough to have backed up a lot of my pictures on DVD, so I think I maybe missing only 5 months worth of pictures, and Jim thinks he can get all my music from my Ipod. We looked into some data recovery companies, but they want between $900-$1300 dollars(can you believe it). I'm not sure my lost pictures are worth that much money. The only good news that comes from this is Jim is getting me a HP home server(so this doesn't happen again) and a new computer-AWESOME.

Spicy Chicken and Mushroom Soup

Late one night a few years ago, and on a complete whim. I sent this recipe into a national recipe magazine. About 6 months later I receive a cookbook in the mail and a letter stating they were using my soup recipe in their book. Although they renamed the soup and miss-spelled my name I was still really excited. So now I can actually say I've been published, I feel so cool.

This is a fun little ditty that was emailed to me. These are definitely some of my favorite things.

Bye-Bye Tree

This picture was actually taken the day after Christmas. I know that seems like I'm a scrooge but I really needed that thing gone. It was so big and I'm still finding needles everywhere. It had a good life and my kids enjoyed the experience, but it was time for it to go to tree heaven(the landfill) may it rest in peace and may my house be uncluttered again.
